Program summary:

The new digital reality requires teachers to teach and to assess their students through the language of the multimedia. Just reading books and working with conventional assessment methods is not enough. Our students and kids are used to paying attention to multi-media materials, combining photo, video and audio resources. They are increasingly turning to learning through video material. There are more teachers who are the creators of teaching materials. If you are tired of presentations and want to innovate your teaching materials, one good option is to try short videos. In relation to the presentation, the video is a form that students better accept. You can use short teaching videos (up to 5 minutes) to highlight key points in a lesson / topic, to send students some additional instructions, as material for a inverted classroom, or to save your shared activities and memories from school.

Research shows that project-based learning like digital storytelling helps students process challenging life events and makes learning more engaging for them. Every day students write essays, reports, and presentations. We can build on this tradition and building knowledge through storytelling projects like digital books, which have many advantages over traditional assessments.

But not all teachers feel themselves armed enough to meet the students’ and kids' expectations. Our hands-on course will give the teachers and educational specialists knowledge and will develop their skills in the multimedia world.

Participants will learn to create photo/video/audio resources and use them for creating their own educational videos and digital storytelling materials. Teachers will make teaching more interactive and engaging. In the course, participants will acquire skills and knowledge how to work with free software, online and desktop based, for editing and producing videos, photos and sound. They will learn to search free online resources, uploading and sharing materials online, writing a script for video tutorials, adding subtitles to a video and creating digital storytelling.

By its end, they will be confident in designing educational projects using video and photo technologies for their students. The course will present different types of Apps for creating multimedia materials. Throughout the course, participants will get familiar with the innovative methodological approach in the schools/kindergarten, of creating and using multimedia materials in the fields of science, mathematics, humanistic studies and sports obtained within several workshops led by the method “learning by doing”.
