In case there is no lockdown and it is safe for both sides, the host organization could also organize:

- cultural programs in Valletta and Medina.
The course venue is Valletta, Malta.
The main goal of the course is to help pre-school and primary school teachers creating a holistic approach to support development of their pupils during the pandemic and post-pandemic times. The course will present different types of multimedia materials, teachers can create and use during the kindergarten/school closures and after that. The suggested methods in the course are regarding the UNESCO’s guidelines for teachers “Ensuring effective distance learning during COVID-19 disruption” and Education 2030 Agenda. Throughout the course, participants will get familiar with the innovative methodological approach in the kindergartens and primary school education, of creating and using multimedia materials in the fields of science, mathematics, humanistic studies and sports obtained within several workshops led by the method “learning by doing”. They will learn how to apply different activities to encourage child's development in five main areas: cognitive development, social and emotional development, speech and language, fine motor skills and gross motor skills. Despite presenting innovative best practice, the course shows how basic psychological needs of safety, belongingness and self-esteem needs to be put on the first place during the school/kindergartens closures. During the pandemic, pre-school and primary school teachers may be able to provide informal support to parents and children via telephone and video conferencing. These teachers should pay attention to the design and implementation of courses; guide parents to provide interaction and support with health habits, games, and reading; understand the perspective of children and connect the home situation with age-specific development; and prepare for challenges while being flexible in their expectations.
The course is designed as an interactive process. The format of the course is didactic, experiential, and interactive along with discussions, individual and team exercises. The focus is on experiential learning and workshop approaches, lectures and group discussions. During the course up-to-date knowledge, concepts, methodologies and examples from different countries will be presented. The participants will also see examples of a platform-based (Smart Kids) online distance learning. One of the delivery methods during the course is the simulation of real lessons with kids. Participants will, most of the time, step in the shoes of kids practicing the online distance learning. The simulations will be accompanied by discussions on different scenarios of delivering the training sessions suggested by the participants. The course is designed in a way that it offers pre-school and primary school teachers several beneficial activities for their professional development in the fields of ICT and multimedia creating .
